FAFSACert

The Moulton-Udell Community School District has been awarded the FAFSA Focused School of Excellence Award for the Class of 2026's outstanding commitment to preparing for their post-secondary education. The high school was recognized for achieving a remarkable 100 percent completion rate for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This marks the first time in the school's history that every senior has completed the FAFSA, a significant milestone that well exceeds the goal of 70 percent.

The FAFSA is a crucial first step for students and families seeking financial aid for college. Completing the form allows students to access a variety of financial resources, including federal grants, work-study programs, and student loans, which are essential for making college more affordable.

Assistant Principal Jason Ogden commended the students, staff, and families for their collective effort. "We are incredibly proud of our students for taking this important step toward their futures," he said. "This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our school counselor, Ann Johnston, Career and College Transition Coordinator Taylor Utt, and parents amd guardians who have all supported our seniors throughout this process. By ensuring every student completed their FAFSA, we’ve opened up more opportunities for them to pursue higher education."

The award, presented by the Iowa College Aid, highlights schools that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to helping students and families navigate the college financial aid process. Moulton-Udell’s achievement not only secures this prestigious award but also sets a new standard for future classes.
